Hi I'm Jeff

I grew up near Chicago, IL. I'm married with 4 children. We moved to Adelaide, AUS in 2005. I'm a researcher/tutor & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for almost 13 years now and have 4 children (2 born near Chicago and 2 born in Adelaide, Australia where we now live. I work at Flinders University as a researcher and as a laboratory practical demonstrator. I am also doing tutoring work. I enjoy spending time with my family, playing sports (I play basketball and baseball socially).

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon firstly as a result of the conversion of my mom and dad to the Church when they were newly married. My dad was in the U.S. army and was given a Book of Mormon by a fellow soldier. He gained a testimony of the Book of Mormon as he read it and joined the Church along with my mom, who was less quick to be converted. To them I will always be grateful. I gained my own testimony of the Church and the truthfulness of its teachings at the beginning of my missionary service (while I was still in the Missionary Training Center) in Provo, Utah. I did have a testimony before then and that's why I decided to serve a mission. But I wanted to have a sure witness from Heavenly Father that the Church was true and after much praying I received a strong answer to the affirmative and also that Jesus is the Christ and that Joseph Smith was a true Prophet. That one experience alone has sustained me throughout my life in regards to helping me stay firm in the faith and encouraging others to live the gospel as well.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a counselor in the Bishopric, so I help the Bishop run the Ward, organize and attend meetings and most importantly, look after the welfare of the members in the congregation. I also visit with members of the Church in their homes to see how they are doing temporally and spiritually and try to offer any assistance I can.
