Hi I'm Johnathan

I'm married, grew up in D.C. have a daughter and a son. I'm a grad student in engineering. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a grad student in aeronautics and astronautics. I've always loved airplanes and would love to be an astronaut. Even more, I love being a dad. I wrestled and played football in high school; now I run and work out. My favorite runs are behind a jogging stroller.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know I'm a child of God. I've felt answers to my prayers. I know Jesus Christ is my Savior. I've felt forgiveness of my sins from God. I read from the Bible and Book of Mormon everyday and by the way I feel as I do, I know those words are the words of God. Living the teachings of Jesus in our home makes me and my family happy. My relationship with my wife is better, for example, as I practice the principle of forgiveness. My love for my children is deeper as I try to be humble like them and see them as children of God. I know that through Jesus, our family can be a family forever. I want more than anything to be with my family, with God and Jesus forever. That's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I teach the 14-15 year old young men in our congregation. I enjoy sharing how faith in Christ blessed my life as a young man, as a Church missionary in Taiwan, and now as husband, father and student. One of the most powerful discussions we had was about how we can pray for help when we've prepared ourselves thoroughly. We prayed together as a group before final exam week and I know the young men felt a peace from God as they approached their exams. I try to live my faith everyday by praying, working hard and honestly, reading from the holy scriptures, and treating my family and others with love and kindness. It's not easy, but I'm trying to be like Jesus.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Following God's prophets has brought an inner peace into my life. I'm happier and I've been protected in a spiritual way in my life because of it. Jesus taught, "by their fruits ye shall know them" and the fruits of following the prophet today have certainly been sweet in my life. Show more Show less
