Hi I'm Tyson

I've lived in Utah my whole life, I love all sports, I'm a college student, and I hope to go to law school. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a single college student, I am studying Russian and Business. I hope to go to law school and eventually work for the U.S. Government. I have played sports my whole life, and sports have always been my favorite hobby. I served as a missionary in Eastern Ukraine where I also learned to speak Russian. I hope to someday get married in the temple and have an awesome family, I can't wait for the time when I can teach my kids how to throw a football and hit a baseball.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been immensely blessed to be born into the church, but I have made a conscious effort to be an active member of the church my whole life. I am convinced that there is no other way to true and lasting happiness. I know the church is true, not because I have had any knock-me-on-my-face revelations, but rather, I have countless experiences where the Holy Ghost has given me personal promptings, clarity of thought, and many other seemingly small assurances that have created an unshakable testimony of the truth.

How I live my faith

I attend my church meetings every week, I do my best to follow the commandments, I attend the temple, fulfill my responsibilities as a ward member, and I strive to serve others.

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Many churches believe to have received their authority from many different places (i.e.: the bible, theological study, etc.), but in the church we believe it came to each priesthood holder by succession leading back to Christ himself. By performing saving ordinances such as baptism we are saying to God, "Ok, we have baptized this person with authority, now it's your turn to keep your end of the agreement." but unless that authority came from God himself, who would ever dare to make that sort of demand on God. James E Talmage said, "Who would dare to affirm that man can originate a priesthood which God is bound to honor and acknowledge?" (Jesus the Christ; Ch. 40). If it is God who saves, it must be by his authority that we perform those ordinances, and that authority was restored through Joseph Smith. Show more Show less
