Hi I'm Astell

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a live alone mom of 6 and was an athiest till about 9 years ago when i prayed for my daughter to live while i was pregnant with her. i was introduced by missionaries to being a mormon in 2009 and in september 2009 i was baptised. i am currently not finding work easy to come by due to circumstance so i volunteer for charities.

Why I am a Mormon

I sat on a bench in town for over a hour watching a 'young boy' about 15 dressed smartly going upto people. only two barely acknowledged him the rest walked past but he looked just as enthusiastic from the first person to the last. he came upto me and asked if i had ever wondered why there were so many churches. this was something i had been thinking about over the last couple of weeks. i spoke and he asked if he could have my number to make contact. i said yes and asked him to wait as i was not ready in my personal life to meet up at that point. i needed to find 'me' first. he respected my wishes and led me to a family feeling and support and caring that i had never known.

How I live my faith

i have just moved back to my old area and found that my local chapel has closed down. i freely admit my faith struggles still and can still feel very new to me. i have had opposition to being a mormon but for the first time in a very long time i feel able to stand up and answer questions about this which makes my faith feel stronger. when i do get to chapel i like that we dress smart and that i feel part of something. i can't wait to find a chapel to be part of again.
