Hi I'm Peter

I was born in Rhode Island. I grew up in California. I'm serving in New Jersey. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Growing up, my dad was in the military, so I have lived in a lot of different places. Rhode Island, Maryland, North Carolina, and finally California, where I spent my teenage years. So I would say that I grew up in California. I love it everywhere I have been, but I do call California home. I am currently a missionary serving in the New Jersey, Morristown Mission. I love it so much! Going out every day and preaching the gospel...it's the BEST! Before I came out here, I was really into theater and performing arts. I love singing, acting, dancing and just strait up having a good time. My favorite thing about it was hearing an audience reaction. Oooh. That's good stuff! I did a little bit of college before I came out to serve as a missionary. Not too much, but I definitely enjoyed my time there and plan on going back. Although I still don't know what to major in... So, as I said before, I am serving as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am serving as a Spanish speaking Elder. I never knew Spanish before I served, so I'll admit it is a bit hard sometimes. But I love the people and the culture, especially the food! There are so many different types of people that I meet everyday! And they all have a wonderful story. My favorite part is watching them change as they slowly accept the atonement of Jesus Christ. Christ has a funny way of making us all change for the better. For that, I thank Him.

Why I am a Mormon

Well the reason I am a Mormon is simple: I felt the Holy Ghost testify to me that this is what I should be. There have been countless times when I have felt this influence. The scriptures describe it as a still, small voice. I think I would describe it as a wonderful peace of mind and soul. How did I get to feel it? Well, I asked for it. I got on my knees one day and asked God for it in prayer. As soon as the words were pronounced, I felt the most powerful, warm, loving feeling fill me up. God literally wrapped me up in the arms of His love. Ever since then, I have felt that same power and influence of the Holy Spirit testify to me that the Book of Mormon is true, Joseph Smith was and is a true prophet, Thomas S Monson is God's mouthpiece today, and (most importantly for me) Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. Through Him (and only Him) I have found heaven-sent peace in times of sadness and trial. I have found forgiveness of sins and have felt the weight of guilt removed from my shoulders through Him. I love my Savoir. I am a Mormon for Him.

How I live my faith

Well, currently I am serving as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a missionary, I consecrate all of my time and energy to serving the Lord by teaching people who He is and how they can get close to Him. I talk with people in the streets, knock on doors, whatever it takes to spread the "good news" to as many people as will listen. I love my time as a missionary!

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

Peter
Throw out the magazine. Turn off the TV. Shut off the computer. Close the book. Get internet filters. Do whatever it takes to prevent it from ever starting. Do not support it; oppose it. Do not allow it to come into your home. Let your friends and loved ones know that it is wrong. Teach them that it is destructive and that it does hurt others too. Help people realize that it is against the commandments of God and the blessings of God are being lost as they allow it to take control of them. Help those who are stuck in this addiction realize that they can be healed. They can be forgiven. Spiritual healing is found only on the conditions of repentance. Tell them to talk to someone that can help them overcome this. God loves us and wants to bless us. We can be forgiven if we trust in Jesus Christ and follow His commandment to repent. Who was Joseph Smith?

Peter
Joseph Smith is a prophet of the Lord Jesus Christ. Just as Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and many other prophets mentioned in the Bible, he was given authority from God to preach the Gospel. By commandment from God, he restored the original church of Jesus Christ; the same one that Jesus Himself set up when He lived on this earth. Many people try to say different things about him as a man. They say he was a criminal, a liar, or whatever else they may call him. I asked God about it all. He told me that he was a prophet of the Most High. If anyone has any doubt about the divinity of Joseph Smith's calling, ask God in faith. He will answer you. All prophets have a proof that they are true prophets. For example Moses split the Red Sea. Joseph Smith translated a book by the power of God. If this book (The Book of Mormon) it true, then Joseph was definitely a prophet of God. Read the book. Ask God if it is true. He will answer you. You will know for yourself that it is true. I know because I did that. God answered me. Try it. Show more Show less

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

Peter
Homosexual behavior is against the laws of God. He knows that many of His children struggle with this sin and it's powerful temptation. He can help them. Only through the atonement of Jesus Christ can they obtain this help. Jesus Christ suffered every class of temptation so that He would know how to help each of us with whatever problem that may come. True happiness comes through keeping the commandments of God. If anyone has any inclination toward homosexuality, I exhort you; turn to Jesus Christ. He will help you change your life so that you can live in harmony with His holy commandments. He loves you. He will never abandon you. I know that all sins can be forgiven. Nobody is perfect and we all have different problems. But Christ's love for us is constant. If we trust in Him and repent, we will be happy. It may be hard, but it will be worth it.
