Hi I'm Merry

I'm a wife and stay at home mom. I love people and love helping them. I love laughing and finding joy in life's ordinary moments.

About Me

Hi! I'm Merry. I'm a wife and stay at home mom. I treasure both roles. Motherhood, for me, is more rewarding and challenging than any previously held position. I worked for years in the travel industry and still love traveling and experiencing the diversity of our wonderful world. I love people. Serving others is one of my greatest passions. I have discovered the more I give, the more I receive in return. Spending time laughing and joking with family and friends is one of my favorite pastimes. I like being happy and finding the good in the world. When I find a few extra minutes to myself, I enjoy practicing the piano, knitting, decorating, reading and being plain silly.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe each person has the opportunity and responsibility of seeking truth for themselves. Although raised in a Mormon family and taught to love God and his Son, Jesus Christ, I still had need to discover truth for myself. I began by pondering on my parent's teachings and then praying about them. As I have continually done so, I have been blessed with feelings of peace, and a burning in my heart; feelings which confirm to me these teachings are true and are of God. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ! It gives me freedom to choose, a knowledge of who I am and who I can become; peace and hope for the future. I have come to understand, through study and prayer, God's abiding love for all His children. I know He hears and answers prayers, for I have experienced this for myself. I know He is aware of us individually. When we seek Him, He will be there to guide and assist us. I love my Heavenly Father! I love my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am eternally grateful for all He has done for me. He IS who He claims to be; He DID for us what He said He would do! He is merciful and kind; He is loving and just. He lives! And my heart rejoices in this knowledge!

How I live my faith

I feel it is imperative that today's youth learn the joy of service. I, along with a friend, host a weekly service club for our daughters and their friends. It's so rewarding to watch as they catch the spirit of service! As a family, we are able to make sack lunches for the homeless. Although they complain at times, I know my family feels good about making this small difference for others. Through service, I hope to inspire people to love others, see their goodness and treat them as God would. I also have the opportunity of playing the piano for the children's auxiliary of my church.
