Hi I'm Carlie

I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, I am a college graduate, a mother, wife, sister, daughter, friend, I'm crafty and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a strong family who valued above all else spending time together. I fell in love with traveling and people. I have been to 48 states and have seen poverty and riches in other countries. I lived in China serving the children there for 6 months. I love to craft and blog and get in touch with my creative side. I took up sewing as my mother taught me and am working on being a better cook. I am a mother of a premature baby and have struggled with health care and trails related to having an infant in the NICU. I am a wife to an incredible man who is loving and full of whit. He makes me laugh every day and I consider myself the luckiest to have found him. I love to be outside, to spend time in the great outdoors is one of my favorite past times. I love to serve in the community and find ways to make other people happy. I have a degree in Public Relations and love finding positive messages in the media. I am sassy, confident, strong willed and compassionate.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because everything about this church makes me happy. I believe God wants His children to be happy, so when I choose to follow the teachings of His church, I am happy. I have faced struggles, heart ache, pain and trials. Through it all my outlet has been to find strength in the Savior, Jesus Christ. I have also had a pretty great life, relatively easy and happy. I am happy because I know Christ is there for me, He loves me enough to have died for me. He understands everything I seek and will always be my comfort and guide in this life. I know Jesus Christ is the Savior of the World. I believe he is a separate being from His Father. I know God is also very aware of our souls. He knows His children individually just like a parent knows their children. I am a Mormon because believing has changed my life for the better. No one in this church tells you how to believe, they teach and then ask you to find out for yourself. I know that's how God would want it. Finding out for myself has made me happy. Not the kind of happiness that lasts for a moment, but for a lifetime. I am a Mormon because I have asked God and found out for myself that this is His will for me.

How I live my faith

I am not just a Sunday believer. I believe every day of the week. I make it a point to read from the Bible and Book of Mormon daily. I pray daily. I pray with my husband before we go to bed. We pray as a family before our baby goes to sleep. I remember to keep the commandments and try my hardest to be good a person. I seek for forgiveness for my sins when I make mistakes. I teach the youth in our congregation and love watching them grow and learn. I am amazed at the strength of teenagers in our day. They face so many trials and are so strong. I live my faith because I need it to sustain me. I notice a HUGE difference when I am not actively seeking to have the spirit in my life. I live for that spirit like the body lives for food and air. When God is with me, I feel capable of doing anything and knowing He will bless me. God does know His children and is waiting to bless us when we choose to live His teachings. That is why I live. For Him.
