Hi I'm Desiree

I have lived most of my life in the south. I am a wife and working mom and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a born and raised southern girl. I have a BA in music and I work as a buyer for our state park system. I am also a mom to three wonderful kids that I never thought I would be able to have. My husband and I had one naturally and then adopted the youngest two after several years of waiting. Along with being a mother and a great business woman I love to read, cook, camp, garden and just about any craft that includes a glue gun or sewing machine. Also, like any good southern home we like to spen lots of time around the kitchen table with friends and family playing games, talking and having fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I chose to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because it holds so many of the answers in my heart. The first and foremost is that I am a daughter of God and he loves me. There have been times in my life that I felt alone and unloved but I always knew that my Father in Heaven was there and listened to my prayers because of his love for me. His love also brings me to the next part of my answer, the plan of salvation. The Plan of Salvation holds the fullness of the gospel and shows us where we came from, why we are here and where we are going. It shows that our Father in Heaven has provided a way for us to return to him one day. He sent his only begotten son to die for all the sins of the world and I am so happy that I know that I can always ask for his forgiveness and my slate will be clean again. I also know that I can be with my husband and children for eternity as long as we try our hardest to live the life we need to in order to achieve the highest glory. I also love that our church is not full of perfect people and that we are able to admit that we have faults. It is so wonderful to know that where ever I go I will have a church family to welcome me with open arms no matter where I have been or what I am going through I will have the support that I need.

How I live my faith

Right now I am serving as the Relief Society (the women's organization) president in our ward. I work with all of the sisters and make sure that everyone is cared for and knows that they belong in our circle of sisters. I also oversee the activites, welfare, meetings and lessons for this ladies too.
