Hi I'm Alana

I grew up in Santa Barbara, CA. I have a BA in Psychology. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love to spend time with my family. Even though I do not have a family of my own yet I appreciate my family in so many ways. I especially love spending time and playing with my nieces and nephews. Other than church two things take up a lot of my time which is work and working out at the gym. My life tends to be very planned and structured, but I guess that is my type A personality.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and always knew in my heart that it was the true Gospel of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. As I was growing up my parents were always very devoted to the faith. Yet, once I got into my teenage years I let the world and influences captive my attention and soon fell away from church. It wasn't until I reached the age of 23 did I find myself going back to church due to missionaries coming and teaching me and helping my fell the Spirit. I felt the Spirit especially after going over the restoration of the Gospel through Joseph Smith. Since that point in time it has only been an upward progression for me in the Gospel and my testimony. Even though there were times I had a few set backs through the atonement I was able to repent and forsake and move forward. There is no other place in this world where I am able to feel the love of my Savior and Heavenly Father than when I am following the commandments and living the way they would want me to live. One of many things that helps me stay close to the Gospel is knowing that my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ see me as a individual and care about me, love me, want to uplift me and want me to be happy. I also know that the church is true by the joy it brings to my soul everyday. I wouldn't trade the Gospel in my life for anything!

How I live my faith

I believe I live my faith in many ways such as: trying to love others regardless of their faults or tresspasses against me, I serve whenever I have the chance given to me either by something given to us in church such as visiting teaching or mormon helping hands. Although I love doing physicial service I love more doing emotional service such as listening to others, helping others and uplifting others as the Gospel and my Savior do for me everyday. I always hope that others see Christ through me and that I am an example of His teachings and it is amazing to me that people outside of my faith have told me that they do see that in me, yet it is not of me but of my Savior for the reason why I shine. I believe I live my faith also by trying to serve my family by helping them spiritually and temporally when I am given the opportunity. I also, try to pray for missionary experiences and every time I do that I am given the opportunity to share my testimony in some way and I do. I have in the last 3 years never missed a day where I have not prayed or read scriptures or church materials which has only blessed me and made me grow, hence why I continue to do it everyday. I am always trying to cleanse my inner vesel and be more Christ like everyday. I am beyond grateful to have the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my life and know it is only by my faith that I have had so many blessings in my life and always have direction in my life regardless of what is happening.
