Hi I'm Crystal

I'm a math nerd, I've been called to serve in Russia, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student in Sacramento, California. I recently received an associates degree in mathematics from American River College, and plan to continue studying math in school. I would like to become a math teacher, or have some sort of math-related career. I grew up in Sacramento with my parents and two younger siblings. I am currently serving an 18-month mission in Novosibirsk, Russia.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the church, but I was 14 years old when I started to feel like I truly had a testimony of the church. At the time, I had been praying to know if the church I grew up with was really true. That summer, I attended a testimony meeting, where several people that were about my age shared their testimonies of experiences they had, and their feelings about the church. I felt the spirit more strongly than I ever had in the past. The spirit confirmed to me that the church was true, and my testimony has grown stronger and stronger since then. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that His gospel and church are true. I know that God loves us and wants us to return to him someday. I know that by following His commandments, we can be happy and we will receive more blessings than we can possibly imagine. I know that the Book of Mormon is truly another testament of Jesus Christ. If you read it, and pray to Heavenly Father with a desire to know if it is true, you will feel the spirit just like I did, and be able to find out for yourself that it is true.

How I live my faith

I am serving a mission in Novosibirsk, Russia, and inviting others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end. In my ward back home in California, I have also been in charge of making a weekly bulletin and passing it out every Sunday. I would gather important information about events and other things throughout the week, so that members of the ward could be up-to-date. I have also been assigned to visit teach some sisters in the ward. I would visit these sisters at least once a month, share a message with them, and help them if they needed help with anything.
