Hi I'm Jim

I am a Southern California attorney and the father of two boys and two girls. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Southern California attorney, practicing civil litigation. I am married and have two boys and two girls. I love hiking, camping, sports, books, movies, and being with my family. I love reading, especially biographies of interesting people. When I'm on my own, I listen to ska and reggae music. I am a life-long member of the Church, having been taught the gospel by parents who are active and faithful members.

Why I am a Mormon

I learned the gospel as a child from my parents. They taught me that if I studied, pondered, and sincerely and prayerfully asked God, He would tell me if the things I had learned were true. I put their teachings to the test, and they were right. God did answer my prayers through his Holy Spirit, and I discovered for myself that the gospel is true. The knowledge of the truth has blessed my life and brought great happiness. I know that God has a plan for me, and this provides direction and purpose for my life. Indeed, God has a plan for everyone. The Book of Mormon contains a promise: if anyone reads, ponders, and prays about it, God will let them know that it is true. I know from experience that this promise is real and available to anyone.

How I live my faith

I try my best to be a good example of a follower of Christ. I serve in the Church in whatever capacity in the Church I am asked. I am continually trying to learn God's will for me and my family, and then do my best to do what I know is right. I currently serve as a Bishop, where I have the privilege of working with some of the kindest and most generous members of the Church.
