Hi I'm Tim

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband and father of two girls. I'm also a human factors scientist working in the biomedical informatics field. I like discussing philosophy with those who don't get bored to tears with the subject. I get bored to tears with sports (did I mention I'm terrible at them?). I'm also a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but the decision to stay is the result of a personal conversion. As a scientist, I am surrounded by those who don't believe in God and make some pretty convincing arguments against His existence. However, I believe because I have had numerous spiritual experiences over the course of my life for which science cannot give a satisfactory answer. I have felt the Holy Spirit testify to me of the Truth and I cannot deny it.

How I live my faith

Sometimes we serve the Lord in ways that make use of our existing talents. Sometimes He has us serve to learn new talents. Right now, I am serving in one of those capacities for which I have had little experience-- as a clerk responsible for the finances of our congregation. Sometimes I feel daunted to be in position with great financial responsibility, but I find it a blessing to have an opportunity to try my hand at something new and grow my talents. In the past I have also served as an instructor and as a leader in one of our men's organizations.
