Hi I'm Tessa

I'm an artist, a writer, a lover of all things multicultural, a new wife, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm married to my very best friend and love of my life, Jeffrey. We love to be spontaneous and have adventures together. I'm studying Professional Writing, Chinese Language and Art Illustration and I love it. I've traveled Asia as a volunteer English teacher and my dream is to continue traveling the world with my sweetheart. Yet, my greatest dream is to be a mother because I can't think of a better way to spend my life than raising a family with my loved ones.

Why I am a Mormon

I was adopted into a loving Mormon family when I was a baby, so I've had the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in my life as long as I can remember. There was a time that I struggled to find my own testimony, or assurance that the church is true. I mean, how could I REALLY know if there was a God? I remember listening to our late prophet Gordon B. Hinckley say that you could - no, you would - gain a testimony of your own when you read the Book of Mormon with an open and sincere heart, and pray to know if it was true. I did so. The Book of Mormon made sense to my mind and comforted my spirit and just inspired me to be a better person. I began to understand more of the "why"s in my life and learn the "how"s too. When I prayed about it I never received a BIG answer, like thunder or some divine messenger, but my answer came in increments, day by day. My life became better. I was happy. I became a nicer person and found myself looking for ways to help others around me more. I remember getting really discouraged once and through tears asking my Father in Heaven if He really loved me. The feeling of love I felt wrap around me was overwhelming and undeniable. I know that this church is true because of my personal connection with our Heavenly Father and the way the Book of Mormon changed my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my very best to be obedient to the commandments and by serving others around me. I try to always be ready to answer a call of a sister in need, whether they've lost a loved one or are just downright lonely. I go to church weekly, and even look forward to it during the week. I also try to always attend an Mormon temple once a week so I can better learn my Father in Heaven's plan for me, and show my love for my deceased ancestors by performing saving ordinances for them (like baptism and such). I increase my desire to be good by being good, and that makes living my faith very easy to do.
