Hi I'm Melody

I love volleyball, basketball, and my family. I am a full-time missionary in México. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the México, Mérida Mission. I have chosen to serve a mission because I want to help others come unto Christ and help them understand what many blessings come into our lives from living the Gospel. For me, the gospel is everything and brings me so much peace and joy. For that reason, I want to share it with all of God's children and help them see their true potential.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because the gospel is something that is near and dear to my heart. Having the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life has helped me become a better person not only at church, but also at school and at home. I know with all my heart that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the one and only true church on the earth. I know that thru the atonement of Jesus Christ, we may be forgiven from our sins. Because he died on the cross and suffered for our sins, we may be forgiven for our wrongdoings. How thankful I am for that! I know that my Heavenly Father loves me unconditionally, as I do him. I'm a princess, a daughter of a King. I know that thru Christ, all things are possible. I know that I can pray to him whenever, wherever, and for anything. That's such a blessing to me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example to others around me. I read out of the scriptures everyday and apply them to my life. I pray to my Father in Heaven every morning and night, asking for help and strength, and most importantly thanking him for my many blessings. I try to speak kindly, uplift and compliment others, and also help others in any way possible. I live my faith by serving others. Service can be as small as a smile. It can also be visiting older couples or widows who need friends or help. I live my faith by refraining from profanity, by trying to love those around me, and by striving to be a better person each new day.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Family is so important to Mormons, for many reasons. I'm a strong believer in spending family time together, and showing family members your love towards them. Family is so important because amid the confusing world, they are the ones who will be there for us. They are the ones who care, and they are the ones who understand (or at least try to understand) what we're going through. A sign in our entrance way says, "The love of a family is life's greatest blessing." It's so true. There is nothing better than knowing that you're family loves and appreciates you. The thoughts, experiences, and memories that I've shared with my family are some of the best of my entire life. The love that they show me is enough to make up for any bad days or trials that I go through. Families share joys and sorrows together, bringing them closer each and every day. Show more Show less
