Hi I'm Sarah

I grew up in Utah. I am an aspiring novelist and I have Turner Syndrome. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the oldest of eight kids and grew up in Utah, which I suppose is pretty typical for a Mormon but its an adventure, let me tell you. I graduated in English and hope to be a novelist. I've finished one novel and have started brainstorming the second. I love incredible women authors like Jane Austen, George Eliot, Charlotte Bronte, Marilynne Robinson and J.K. Rowling. Snape is totally my favorite Harry Potter character. I love jazz, post-grunge rock (yeah Nikki Sixx!), white chocolate, cavalier king charles spaniels, and Colin Firth. I have Turner Syndrome, which means I was born with one X chromosome instead of two. XO.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born a member of the church, I have definitely done a lot of exploring and research. The Church of Jesus Christ is the only thing that makes sense. Everything else feels like its only part of the story. The LDS doctrine is consistent with what I believe is the purpose behind our existence on this earth, and who I believe God to be. The only explanation for the understanding, joy and peace I have felt in my life is God's spirit and His love.

How I live my faith

I love art, all kinds. Writing, painting, dance, theater, film, photography, etc. I believe that all good things come from Christ, and artists provide some of the best things we have. I believe it is one of the best ways we have of connecting with God. I try to make beauty and art a part of my daily life. I try to let my relationship with God inform my art, and my art inform my relationship with God. If that makes sense :) I love having such a strong, supportive community everywhere I go. I love talking with people and making new friends and hearing their stories and thoughts about the gospel.
