Hi I'm Sara

I am finishing a doctorate in Aeronautics and Astronautics and beginning a career in data sciences and social media.

About Me

I have a strong passion for education and have pursued several graduate degrees in mathematics and engineering. My work and research are constantly presenting exciting intellectual challenges. I am not married and do not have children so I volunteer weekly for tutoring program for children, most of whom are coming from homes where English is not spoken. Tutoring is one of my favorite parts of the week. Graduate school has been time intensive but when I can, I enjoy the outdoors, backpacking, canyoneering, rock climbing and hiking. I have a wonder family that I spend time with as well as many dear friends.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents taught me and raised me as a mormon. We read scriptures together, prayed together, went to church, held weekly family nights to discuss the gospel of Jesus Christ. We made decisions as a family to live the standards taught by the church, which were different in many ways to the way people were living in California where I grew up. I decided at a very young age that I believed what my parents where teaching me and decided to continue following what they had taught me. I sincerely believe this church was established by God and that he is real. As I have lived the principles taught and have not been disappointed in any of the promises that are made to those who live it. My life up to this point as been filled with the constant and real companionship of the Holy Ghost, which is a blessing given after baptism. I have developed a real and precious relationship with God and see his love manifest to me every day.

How I live my faith

I pray and study the scriptures, The Bible and Book of Mormon, everyday. Jesus Christ teaches many things in these books that I am trying to live. I am trying to be kinder, forgive and lose myself in serving other people. I try to actively fight for moral and honest behavior in my field of work and professional life. I attend regular church meetings and responsibility for organizing service opportunities for the other members I go to church with. This month we are working with local community organization to make much needed to repairs to a house in our neighborhood.
