Hi I'm Darron Cundick

I'm from Springfield, VA, and I've lived in Las Vegas, NV and in Lexington, KY. I'm a mechanical engineer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of three and loving every minute of it! I love the outdoors, and I especially enjoy hiking and kayaking. I keep busy with home ownership and outdoor projects. I like fixing things and learning new skills. When I have a little spare time, I like to make things out of wood. I am particularly fond of chocolate - brownies are a staple! Dark chocolate is the best! I was born in Virginia, just west of Washington DC, and later moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. I have since lived in Lexington, Kentucky, and I now live in Bountiful, Utah. I have also been fortunate to travel some: Brazil, Argentina, and France.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by wonderful parents who have great faith in the Savior and belief in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They have taught me through scripture, prayer, faith, and example. Ultimately, however, I am a Mormon today because of my personal choices and the merciful guidance of God's Holy Spirit. Throughout my life, I have made many, many decisions about in what I believe and in what I exercise my faith. I have sought the divine guidance and confirmation of the Holy Spirit while studying about Jesus Christ. Several times in my life, even from childhood, I have received direction and answers from God, and I knew that my actions and the direction I was taking were good and true. The Spirit has confirmed to me many times that the fullness of His gospel is in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My faith and continued membership in the Church is because of this personal conviction through the power of personal revelation.

How I live my faith

In recent years I have worked with boys and young men in the BSA as a Scoutmaster. I loved working with the youth and learning from them while attempting to teach them about the outdoors, family, community, and country. I strive to strengthen my faith and then make it a part of my home and family life. My wife and I are trying to be better about sharing what we learn with each other and as a family. I try to find ways of applying principles I've learned and the things I know to be true to my life and my family. I am working on improving my relationship with my Heavenly Father and with my Savior. I know that when I make the effort to seek God's will and direction, through prayer and scripture study, I come to know Him better and my desire to become as He is increases. I also know that I must look to Jesus Christ - to His example, atonement, and mercy - to increase my personal faith and testimony.
