Hi I'm Steve

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised LDS in a family of 3 sisters and 1 brother. I currently am married with 2 sons. I grew up playing sports such as basketball, golf, and baseball. Now that I'm older, I enjoy spending free time playing guitar and singing in a bluegrass band that plays festivals, fairs, and even weddings. I've worked at an engineering company as a paint & porcelain enameling system designer for the past twenty yrs just recently moving into the purchasing dept as a manager.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church but like all members, a conversion had to take place. For me that conversion occured over the process of several years but probably became strongest while serving as a missionary in the California, Sacramento mission. I have an unwaivering belief and love for my savior Jesus Christ. I know he suffered greatly for my sake to provide redemption for me. I know that we are lead by a living prophet today just as people of old. I know that Joseph Smith was called, as those prophets of old, as the first modern day prophet. I know that he translated, through the power of God, the writings of prophets who lived in the Western Hemisphere for many generations prior to and after Christ's mission on the earth. That translation is known as the Book of Mormon and I know that it contains the word of God just as that found in the bible. I know that the Book of Mormon and Bible stand as complimentary testaments of the gospel of Jesus Christ and His gospel.

How I live my faith

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is all about service. We have a lay ministry which means that members fill all roles in administration and teaching. I have had the privilege of serving in several various responsibilities. I've taught children ranging in age from 2 up to 18. I have served as a leader in the growth and development of teenage boys. I have also served as a counselor in the bishopric which leads and directs the affairs of the congregation. Currently I am serving as an Executive Secretary who assists the Bishop in scheduling meetings and administering the affairs of the congregation.
