Hi I'm Joshua

I'm a Type 1 Diabetic. I grew up in Utah. I'm serving a mission in upstate New York . And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've grown up a Latter-Day Saint. My parents are excellent examples to me. They live their lives the way they should and they are still in love after 24 years. I love being with my family. There are only five of us, but we are the best of friends. We go camping and boating together. I love the all the places in Utah that keep us entertained. I love the mountains. We are constantly outside. My brother plays baseball and basketball and my sister is a dancer. We are all very supportive of each other. We have a Golden Retriever named Kobe. He's the youngest member of our family.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because it gives me the happiest times that I can remember. I have memories of many family members and close friends who live their faith and are a fantastic example to me. This gospel gives so much happiness, and gives so much strength that I can't see anyone turning away from it. I don't know how anyone could live without the peace and joy that the gospel brings. This gospel has blessed my life more than I deserve, and has given me more happiness than anything else that this world has to offer.

How I live my faith

I try and live my faith every day. Sometimes it's hard. But I know that the commandments were given to us for our benefit. I follow the example of Jesus Christ as best I can. I try to do the things that are right. I try to be nice to everyone, which isn't always easy. I live my faith by surrounding myself with people that have the same morals and standards (Mormon or not) as I do. That way there is no temptations to do things with my friends that I know to be wrong. I go to church every Sunday and participate in my classes. I was baptized when I was eight years old, so I partake of the Sacrament every Sunday so I can renew those covenants I've made with my Heavenly Father.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Mormons help everyone. The LDS church provides assistance all around the world. For instance, when there is a natural disaster the LDS church will send all sorts of supplies and much needed relief to the affected areas. Often times members of the LDS church will travel to an area to help with the clean-up and rebuilding efforts. In another example, the LDS missionaries go all over the world to preach the true word of God. While they are doing that they take the opportunity to help around the communities.
