Hi I'm Robert Eugene Haggard II

I'm from Oxnard, CA now in Provo, UT. I'm an adventurer, I'm a friend, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to write. I play sports like volleyball, soccer, football. I am an avid fan of hanging out with friends. I enjoy lots of different things in life. I enjoy every moment I have on this Earth. I enjoy the outdoors, hiking, swimming, canoeing, seeing new places. I thoroughly enjoy studying about religion, and finding new depths to Doctrine even with things I may have read before, I can continue to learn and gain things from.

Why I am a Mormon

Well, at first I was a mormon because I was born into the Church, but I have found that it takes a lot more to be a Mormon than to just be born into it. I am a Mormon because I know of the reality that my Savior, Jesus Christ, lives. He lives and suffered for my sins, He lives and dwells on High with my Heavenly Father. Together they love us perfectly and are helping through the Holy Ghost to find our way back into their presence. I once was a questioning soul, someone that thought there wasn't sound logic in all of the aspects of this Gospel. I sought diligently to find the answers I sincerely desired in my life. I struggled for sometime with understanding what I was missing in my life. I then found an example in my life that I saw everything good and holy. I saw that in this person there was so much good, and it reflected my Savior's love. I instantly knew what I was missing. I started from that moment on to live a life that I thought may reflect my Lord. He loved people with all of His heart and so too did I start loving more people. I wanted to be like Him, and that was the piece I was missing. This friend of mine set an example that has given me the strength to my Testimony and love for this Gospel that I at first was missing. He is the best friend that anyone can hope for, and continues each day to magnify his love for others. I have a testimony of Eternal Families and the Glories of God that wait for us in the life to come. I see that through Christ's love, I can more fully learn to love others. I love this friend, and because of him I have learned to love others with all of my heart. To see past flaws that at first are blatant, and see what truly lies below in wait for open minds and hearts to receive them.

How I live my faith

I was a hometeacher before I came on my mission and I saw many examples of righteous living through the people I taught. In reality these people taught me so much about the Gospel. It was my duty to visit and teach and help members of the church grow closer to Christ, and I was so amazed at how much it helped me as well as them. When you hometeach you are told to visit once a month and check up on the needs (both physical and spiritual) of these people. I was just another High School aged kid when I first started, but now I am looking back and seeing how much it helped me. I am so grateful for their example and the opportunity given me to share small messages to reinforce all of our testimonies. It was more than that experience that helped me grow, I spent lots of time participating in the youth programs that allowed us to bond and grow together so that we would have friends outside of just Church, in our everyday lives. We spent hours camping, and playing basketball, and just living our lives to the fullest. It allowed us to have a stronger relationship with each other, and most importantly with our Heavenly Father.

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

Robert Eugene Haggard II
Husbands and wives are meant to complement eachother. They raise children together, they pay bills together, they care for the education of their children together. As husbands and wives, we are given the most amazing gift, raising children. These children are everything that God hopes for us. He wants everyone to obtain families and to raise them in a loving environment with two parents. A father to protect, provide, and preside over the family. A mother to nuture the children, to raise them and tend to their needs, and to make sure that each child is loved. Husbands, those tasks are given to you too. You must place your family before yourself at all times. You are a vital aspect of the family. You should be a man that children strive to be like, an example of strong morale standing and a strong love for people in their lives. Wives, don't waste your time on men that don't respect you or love you. You are meant to be with a man that will love you and help you in all of your tasks. You are given the most amazing gift of all, tending to and nurturing the children. You are amazing, don't let any man tell you otherwise. Show more Show less
