Hi I'm Seth Hansen

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student studying Bioengineering. I will play any sport. I love rock climbing, soccer, racquetball, running, biking. I have a life goal to be an ironman. I have a passion for music. I have played the piano since I was 4 years old, and I am learning the guitar. I love challenging myself, and learning new things. I am sure you can do anything you want if you put your mind to it.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised an LDS christian. Like many people I found it hard to believe the crazy stories in the scriptures. The logical engineering mind that God gave me was screaming "fairytale". How did Jesus walk on water? My testimony was achieved not by convincing myself these stories are true, but by living the principles taught in them. There was a point in my life where I was unsatisfied with my life. It was not yielding true happiness. This is the point where I looked to the teachings of Jesus for truth. I would not settle for less than the truth. The plan of salvation as it was restored through Joseph Smith is crystal clear. It brings purpose, and clarity to life. Gaining knowledge of God and his goodness changed the way I think. I have aligned my thought closer to the thoughts of God, and it has brought me true happiness. I know that living the gospel will change the very essence of who we are. It will make something greater of us than what we could achieve on our own. These teachings are not of man, but of a greater being who loves us and desires our progress. I do have a testimony in Jesus. I do believe that he is the creator of this earth, and that his priesthood power controls the elements, and that he can walk on water. I believe that there is a living prophet on the earth today who receives revelation and helps us understand these truths.

How I live my faith

It is not enough to just believe in Jesus. Faith is a firm belief, and always leads to action. I truly believe in Christ, and it effects all the choices I make everyday in life. I choose not to watch dirty TV shows or movies, and I listen to good clean music. The world delights in these things, but I do not. I love sports, and because I do not drink or smoke, I have been blessed with a healthy body and mind. I try to avoid anything that would prevent me from reaching my potential. The commandments protect me from such dangers. I strive daily to be a good person. I find myself often in a position to help others who are struggling. My life has been blessed as I give of myself in service. Jesus has a perfect love for each of us. I strive daily to gain more love for those around me by serving and helping. I have a strong desire to have a family, and I will live the rest of my life giving myself to them in service.
