Hi I'm Michael Francis

My name is Michael. I am a musician, a missionary, an older brother, and a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently 18 years old and I have been called to serve a mission for the LDS church. I will be serving in the California Anaheim mission. I leave July 1st and I couldn't be more excited. I love music, it is one of my favorite hobbies. I play four instruments and I sing. I just love the powerful effect that all genres of music can have on people. I was born and raised in Idaho Falls, Idaho. I love spending time outside and with my family. My life isn't too exciting haha, but I have been very blessed and I have a lot to be thankful for.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member my entire life. Both of my parents are very active in the church and have been great examples to me as I learn and grow. As I've grown up, I've used my parents testimony of the church to strengthen me. But now, for the past little while, I've been striving to gain my own personal testimony of the gospel and this church. Through the scriptures, and through prayer, I have been building my testimony of the gospel, and I will continue to do so. I have learned for a fact, that Christ is my redeemer, savior, and friend and that he loves me for who I am and who I can become. I also know that the Book of Mormon is the truest book on Earth, and I love to get to daily learn and study its writings. I really do love this church and the gospel, and I know that it has changed my life for the better.

How I live my faith

Being in highschool, I am limited to the callings that I can have. But i am currently serving with the young men in my ward. Every week we meet for mutual and do activities, like scouting, that help us prepare for every day life. Every Sunday, I help prepare the sacrament for my ward, and that is one of my favorite things to do every week. When I prepare the sacrament, I take the place of Christ, and I do what he would do if he were here. It is such a great priviledge for me to be able to do this, and it strengthens my testimony every time I do. As a young man, I am often called to help others in the ward with service. I am so blessed to be able to do this, and I love the feeling that I get when I can help others. Because I am over 14, I am also a home-teacher. Me and my companion are able to visit several families in the neighborhood every month and just be their friend. We help them with things they need, and talk to them about their daily life and the problems they are having and try to help them. I've noticed that when I'm busy helping improve the lives of others, my own life improves in the process. When I'm trying my best to fulfill these callings, I get this great feeling inside, telling me that I'm doing what the Lord wants me to do. Even though I'm only in highschool, I have so many opportunities to help in the church, and help others.
