Hi I'm Jeff

I'm a California native. I grew up on an Avocado ranch. I enjoy the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a father of one teenage girl and three younger boys--the last two boys are twins. I enjoy woodworking, backpacking, hiking, and trail running. I also enjoy gardening, cooking, and eating. I love spending time with my wife of 20 years. We still go out on a date every weekend, and we try to get away for trips without the kids at least a couple times each year. Of course, we also like to travel with our children, and some of our favorite family vacations have been to Yosemite, Hawaii, and New Mexico. As for work, I am an executive at a small healthcare software company. I work with great people, and I am lucky to be able to do something that I enjoy and that also helps others.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an active Mormon family. My father's ancestors were pioneers who helped to settle the Salt Lake area. My mother, who is from Costa Rica, joined the Church as a teenager. While growing up I was fortunate to have many experiences that helped me to better understand the gospel of Jesus Christ and feel of His love. Through trials, affecting both my family as well as me personally, I had my faith tested and was able to build a personal testimony of my Savior, Jesus Christ. I know that He lives. I know that through Him and by following His teachings, we can find joy in this life and Eternal Life in the world to come. I feel that happiness in my life, and I wish others could also share in experiencing the joy the gospel brings.

How I live my faith

I believe that the best testimony I can share of the gospel of Jesus Christ is through the example of how I live my life. I find true joy and happiness in serving my family and others. I have worked a lot with the youth of the church. In my spare time I volunteer with the boy scouts, and I also currently serve as the bishop of our local congregation.
