Hi I'm Cole

I grew up in Utah. I love golf, music, and snowboarding and i'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love playing basically any kind of sport, especially Golf and Basketball. I also love anything outdoors like snowboarding, hunting, camping, etc! I am currently serving a mission for the church but prior to that i was attending college and studying chemistry. I hope to go into medicine and specialize in orthopedics. Friends and Family are everything to me and always will be.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. For a long time i never really knew why i was a member or whether i believed everything or not. I just went through the motions. Then before my mission when i was 18 at college i decided to find out for myself if the church was true or not. So i took Moroni's promise and just started from page one in the Book of Mormon and prayed that i could know for myself if it was true or not. I didn't receive a revelatory vision or anything but the minute i started reading with a real desire to find out if it was true i felt peace and happiniess and i knew that what i was reading was true. Since then my testimony of this gospel has only grown. This gospel has brought me so much joy and happienies and my family as well. There is nothing better than knowing that you can be with you family forever and that there is someone out there who loves you more than you can imagine and wants nothing more than to help you return to live with him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by always striving to develope christlike attributes (Love, Charity, humble, obedient, etc). Our whole purpose on this earth is to try to become more like Christ so we can return and live with our father in heaven and our families for eternity; so i do everything i can to achieve that! I am also serving a mission for the church for 2 years of my life to go and spread what i know. There's no greater joy than bringing others to know and love what you have come to love. I know this is the true gospel and i know that it is through living the gospel that we can all come to find that peace, hope, and love that everyone strives for.

What is the First Vision?

Cole
The first vision is when the prophet Joseph Smith (who at the time was not a prophet. Just a 14 year old boy) saw God the father and Jesus Christ. When he was young he wanted to know which church he should be baptized into so he kept going around to all the churches asking if they were the true church of Jesus Christ that was established back when Christ was on the earth. However they all said they were the one and so Joseph was confused. Then one day while he was reading in the bible he came across a scripture in James 1:5 that says "if any of you lack wisdom let him ask of God". So Joseph did exactly that and went out into a grove of trees and knelt down and offered up his first vocal prayer to his Heavenly Father. It was at this moment that God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to him and said none of the churches were true and and that the Pristhood needed to be restored to the earth once again. Along with this Joseph established the true Church of Jesus Christ back on the earth again. Show more Show less

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

Cole
Baptism is sooo essential and is such a blessing in the Church of Jesus Christ! We believe that just like our savior was baptized so should we. Why shouldn't we be baptized and a recieve a remission of our sins if even our savior Jesus Christ who is perfect was baptized?! Through baptism we are able to recieve so many blessings such as a remission of our sins and a chance to start over again. However it is so crucial that we are baptized by someone who holds the Priesthood (power to act in Gods name) authority of God. Just like how Jesus walked 80 miles to be baptized by John the baptist we too must find someone who has been called and set apart to do the ordinance of baptism. Along with that we have the opportunity to be "baptized" by the spirit and recieve the Holy Ghost as a constant companion and guide in our lives through that same priesthood power. Show more Show less
