Hi I'm Karissa

I'm number 2 of 10 kids. I want to be a Social Worker. I love ballet and cooking. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am very social and open to people. I enjoy group settings and love a good rowdy crowd ! When my friends and I get together we like to T.P. cars and leave cute messages for people that tell them we care. I love ballet, it's a beautiful style of dance because it has so much grace and dedication in every fluid movement. I am starting school in the fall, I want to be a Social Worker because I love helping people and seeing an instant positive change in their life and surroundings. I want to make a difference !

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the gospel and have had my ups and downs but at the end of the day I always come back to what I love and know. I feel a sense of love, belonging, and security when I follow the commandments and guidance of our prophet. I choose this life because living the standards of the church makes me HAPPY and I like feeling that way. I know that with every decision I make in my life I have a loving Heavenly Father who cares about and helps me. I have an eternal family and that keeps me confident in an ever changing world. Lastly, I rely heavily on the power of the priesthood and how it blesses my life, I could never imagine my world without it.

How I live my faith

I have standards that I work hard to keep every day, like living healthy by not drinking alcohol or coffee and avoiding drugs and smoking. My friends all respect me for it and commend me on my strong will. I try to avoid swearing and talking about negative things, others and myself feel more comfortable that way :) I believe that service is the best way to let people know that you care and so I am constantly trying to do good deeds for people, I want them to know that people watch and care over/about them. I choose to reserve the Holy Sabbath for worship and family time. I avoid work, strenuous or rowdy activity, and studying so that I can focus on my family and my Saviour. I play the piano in church for the adults and the children and I enjoy the blessings and spirit that only music can bring :) I share my talents because I am taught that God gave them to us to use for good and share so we can bless lives and develop more.

What is the Church’s position on abortion?

Karissa
Life is sacred. We have the amazing gift of creating life inside of us. As soon as the sperm and the egg are met, life has started ! Ending a life is a serious sin and that is why we are against abortion. We fight for those who can't speak for themselves and in this case it is for helpless babies. For those who are in an unplanned pregnancy we offer LDS services and counselling and advise adoption. There are so many wonderful families who can not have children and would lovingly accept yours.
