Hi I'm Kody

I am a Graduate Student of Cross-Cultural Studies. I am a husband, father, friend, and a child of God. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father to three daughters, ages 7, 2, and 8 months. I have been married to my beautiful wife, Fina, for almost 9 years. I am a graduate student. I will graduate in December 2012. I love to travel and take long drives. My dream is to go scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef. I speak Spanish fluently. I love to go camping in the mountains, although its been quite some times since I have been able to. I am involved with the Boy Scouts of America. I recently discovered that I love reading. I have read over 50 books in the last 2 years.

Why I am a Mormon

I have often thought about why I am a Mormon. As a graduate student I have taken several classes on religion and the impact that it has on society. I have had the opportunity to attend several different religious services and venues, yet, I choose to be Mormon. I have found joy being a Mormon. I have found peace being a Mormon. I choose to be Mormon not because it was the religion of my parents or because it is the religion I was born into, I choose to be Mormon because I know it is where God wants me to be. I have had several experiences in my life that have confirmed that my choice is correct. I know that our Savior, Jesus Christ, appeared in the Western hemisphere after his crucifixion. I know that He lives. I know that he loves me for who I am and who I can become because of his sacrifice. I know that Jesus is the Christ that has provided me a way to return to my Heavenly Father who loves me. I know that because of the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus Christ that I have the chance to be with my family for the eternities. I know that God our Heavenly Father loves us in this day as much as he loved the peoples of the scriptural times. He continues to speak to us through a living and modern prophet. I know that the Holy Ghost is real and can guide us in our lives if we let him. God loves all of his children. Christ is the Savior of all mankind.

How I live my faith

I am currently the Young Men's President in my ward. I participate in weekly activities to help bolster the Youth in the ward. In this calling I also participate heavily in the Boy Scouts of America program. I love it! I have had several other responsibilities over my lifetime. I have been in the primary program as a teacher for 3 year olds, 10 year olds and 12 year olds. I have served where the focus is on improving the relationships that men have with God and with each other as they serve one another. I have been on committees for activities and have also served as both a full-time and a Stake missionary. I am a home teacher to 5 wonderful families. I enjoy serving others.
