Hi I'm Landon

I love Rubik's cubes, Photoshop, and the Utah Jazz. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in the good 'ole Beehive State AKA Utah. I come from a family of 8. That may seem like a lot, but my mom comes from a family of 14... yikes. I love to sit down at the piano and just mess around and play for hours, when I have the time. I love Photoshop. I have spent many days "creatively spending time" editing photos, making posters and advertisments, or simply putting my face on famous people. I love solving Rubik's cubes. My fastest time yet was 32 seconds. That may sound impressive until you go to YouTube and discover that there's about 300 bagillion people who solve a cube in under 10 seconds. I'm a true Utah Jazz Fan, through the good and bad. We've had season tickets for as long as I remember and there's few things in the world I would rather do on a weekend night than go downtown with my family or friends and watch my boys play.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a member of the church in my family under two parents who taught me to love the Lord. Also, there is a strong LDS influence growing up in Utah, so the church has always been a prominent part of my life. My family and peers had a profound influence on me spiritually and they were always there for me. I grew up seeing the blessings of the gospel in my life and in the lives of others. I was blessed so much to have grown up in those circumstances. But there was a point in my life where I didn't rely on the strength of my parents and friends in the church. I thought I knew better. I thought that I could do whatever I wanted and still be safe because every around me was faithful. But I learned that that was not true and there came a point where I needed to decide what I was going to do with my life. So much like Joseph Smith, I searched to know for myself. It wasn't until I felt I had nobody in my life to turn to that I realized my Heavenly Father had been there all along. I know He loves me. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. This gospel has blessed my life in ways I can't even explain. And I can honestly, with all sincerity of heart, say that I know that this is the true church. This is the true gospel of Jesus Christ and it brings true happiness.

How I live my faith

Growing up in the church, I always had great examples and people to look up to. Something I always wanted to do was serve a mission. A mission is when you leave your home, school, and everything else and are assigned a place in the world where you do nothing but share and teach the gospel for 2 years. So just like many others (including my father and 2 brothers) have done before me, I decided to serve a mission. It is by far the best decision I have ever made in my life. It's incredible to see that how it doesn't matter someone's age, gender, education, economical circumstances- the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings happiness and hope to everyone. There is no greater joy to be found than in serving others!
