Hi I'm Gordon Gartner

I'm a Mormon, I am married to Nancy and have 5 kids and am a retired police officer.

About Me

I am retired police officer who owns a small private investigations compnay. If I get drawn, I like to hunt Elk and Deer, hike, fish a little, read a few books, travel in our RV and enjoy life. My wife and I will be married 40 years this year. We enjoy our family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have had my own experience with my religion which has born wintness to me about the truth. For me, it comes down to my own sense of rightness. I came from a family where my Dad and two older brothers and myself were baptized into the church and we all fell away when I was just a little boy. When the missionaries knocked on my door when I was in my late 20's I felt something was about to change in my life. It did take a while for me to come to terms with what I was feeling. I have no choice, I know that Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored when God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ came to the boy Prophet Joseph Smith and directed him not to join any other church. The world was changed andin due time the Book of Mormon came forth, the priesthood was received and the Saviors church was organized for our beneifit. I know that my family has been sealed together in an eternal family. When we are sealed, we are a better people because of our fatih. Finally, reading the Book of Mormon has testified to me of our Savior's love for all of us. The Book of Mormon is a treasure in my life. This great little book tells the story of a people who were guided by the Lord to a land of promise and as we read we see the Lord's hand in their lifes and yet in the end we see how so many of them fall away. Any of us can strengthen our relationships when we live by the precepts taught in the Book of Mormon.

How I live my faith

Well for sure I am not perfect. I do try to do well and work in my church callings and go to my meetings. The busier I am in the church, the better I am. I have served as a Boy Scout leader and has a teacher of youth and in various leadership positions. Our church is entirely lead by volunteers so people have chances to experience different ways to serve. I have been a volunteer Little League coach, youth basketball caoch and a school board member. I try to be a good neighbor...
