Hi I'm Fina.

I'm a wife, a mother, and a math teacher and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Mexico but I grew up in Dallas, Texas. I am wife and a mother to 3 beautiful little girls. I work at a high school as a math teacher while my husband is finishing his masters in Sociology.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I wanted to be happy in my life. I had many friends who struggled through out high school because of the decisions they made. I knew what I believed was to be true so I chose to follow what Jesus Christ would have me do. This does not mean that I did not have struggles in life, this just meant that I was able to control the types of struggles I had in life. I had friends who became pregnant and were unable to finish high school. I saw them raising a child on their own and having to work to provide for their child. Jesus Christ taught that procreation was something to be done within a marriage. It is something really sacred to bring a child into this world and I wanted to give my children the best I could. I wanted them to have a mother and a father. I want my children to see that they can control their lives if they follow the commandments we've been given. Alcohol and drugs takes a persons ability to choose for themselves, to control what goes on around. I love my life and I love my family. I also really love our Heavenly Father for sending down his son, Jesus Christ, to help us be able to return to him and to live with our family for eternity.

How I live my faith

At church I help organize activities for the women. We have activities once a month where women can come together and share some time together to not just talk about Jesus Christ, but also to talk about our lives. We give each other suggestions or help. This is also a nice place to get to know and meet other women with children. We feel like a big family where everybody helps each other. All you have to do is ask.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

As a Mormon, I do not drink coffee, tea, or alcohol because it can take away our free agency. God gave us agency to be able to choose the things we do in our lives. To me, these drinks can take away my free agency. They take my ability to make the choice that I want to do. They take away the freedom that God gave me. I control what my body does, my body does not control what I am able to do. God has also promised me great physical and spiritual blessings if I follow the Word of Wisdom and I have seen these blessings in my life. Show more Show less
