Hi I'm Lorinda

I'm a wife and mom, I'm a foodie, I'm absolutely hooked on spin class at the gym and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born into an amazing and loving home with 10 siblings- 4 of which were adopted as older children, the oldest being 16. I like to claim to be the middle child even though I am #4. I am stubborn and head-strong and very determined- I have even been called sassy by my own children. (doesn't that sound like a middle child?) I have 5 kids and an awesome husband that I love going on weekly dates with. I am a foodie, I love to be in the kitchen kneading dough and chopping veggies and trying new recipes. I love to read and am a part of a book club. I enjoy decorating my home on a budget. I actually enjoy the challenge of a budget. I love to be creative and projects that require using my imagination are my favorite.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents raised me as a member of the Mormon faith. I gained a testimony in my youth step-by-step when I followed the church standards and even when I did not follow the church standards. When I followed the standards I felt the blessings and I gained a testimony of whats good and right. When I did not, I didn't feel the Spirit with me and it was a very sad and lonely feeling. That was when I realized that the standards I had been taught was the Lord's standards. As a youth, I read the Book of Mormon and prayed, the truthfulness of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was revealed to me. As I listen to the Prophet, President Thomas S Monson, the Spirit testifies to me that he is inspired by a loving Heavenly Father and what he is tell us is what Heavenly Father wants us to hear. He is the Lord's mouthpiece here on Earth. Living the Gospel is what has truly converted me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to do good and be good every day. By stumbling and picking myself up and continuing forward in faith. Knowing that Heavenly Father loves me and wants me to succeed helps so much, I try my best to stay close to Him by praying and reading the Scriptures and going to church meetings and serving in the church and in my community. I live my faith by protecting my family- Protecting my marriage by going out on dates with my husband, by being his friend, letting no outside sources come between us, by being loyal and true. I protect my family from the world by spending time with them, showing them that I love the Lord by my words and my actions, by trying to keep the home a place of refuge, by praying together, by setting a night a week aside for family time. I live my faith by doing my best to be like Christ, for He IS the perfect example.
