Hi I'm Ty

I love skateboarding and playing the guitar. I'm from Minnesota, and I love this Gospel.

About Me

I am really big into skateboarding and long boarding. If I watch TV at all I almost always choose to watch cartoons. I don't paint or draw much myself, but I thoroughly enjoy exciting paintings and artwork. I like poetry and have a small collection of poems that I have written. I play the guitar and recently have come to enjoy singing more too. One of the most important things to me is my family and my relationships with those people who are closest to me. The people in my life all really mean the world to me. I truly hope they all know that. I have a strong testimony of prayer. I believe God hears and answers the prayers that we give Him. I have come to know myself that through serious prayer we can all gain a stronger relationship with our Heavenly Father and by the power of the Holy Ghost know the truth of all things. I know that our relationship with Him is more important than any others.

Why I am a Mormon

To put it into a single sentence, I am a Mormon because I know The Book Of Mormon is a true book. I have felt the truthfulness of this Gospel for myself. This realization has come as I have put the things I have been taught by this church to the test, and felt the Spirit testify to me that they are true things that will bless my life. As I have sought out to study them more intently I have felt the Spirit of God draw closer to me and change me. I wasn't always so sure though. I remember one specific day in my apartment kneeling in prayer and asking God if He loved me. That was the full purpose of my prayer to know whether God was really there and if He loved me. At the time that I was asking this I really doubted these things even though it was a doctrine that I had grown up with and been raised believing. It was, at this moment, something that I had to test out for myself to know if it was true. I remember very vividly kneeling there and praying so sincerely to know. Then all of the sudden it just clicked and became very clear to me. I felt a peace and a calm energy with a strength that I had never felt before. I know that it was the Holy Ghost. My mind was open and felt clear and sure. And I knew! Just like that I knew it had to be true. From that moment on I have never doubted whether God loved me. Later on, I also prayed to know whether The Book Of Mormon taught truth. In a similar way as the Spirit of the Lord manifested the truth of it to me, I came to know with a surety that The Book Of Mormon was a true book with real stories from real people who lived a long time ago. Because of these experiences I am able to testify that I know this church is the only true church on the earth today. I know that anyone who sincerely wants to know these things can know them for themselves too. I encourage everyone to give this Gospel a fair try. I promise to you it will change your life. It has changed mine, and continues to every day that I spend learning more from it.

How I live my faith

Faith is gained and strengthened as we take action. I live my faith every day as I read the scriptures and pray. I live it as I go to church on Sundays and participate in church activities. I think the biggest way I live my faith is by serving and helping others. All Christ did throughout His entire life was give and serve. He is the perfect example of serving others. Being kind and helping others is something that is very important to me. I really want to be able to help bless as many peoples lives as I can. My heart truly goes out to people who are vying for some kind of help and it always gives me a great feeling inside whenever I can provide it. I have always loved volunteering and helping out at nursing homes on the weekends, or service projects within my church. It is an important ideal of mine to help those in need because I want to make a difference in peoples lives. As I strive to do these things I can actually feel God blessing my life and the lives of the people who I come in contact with. One of the biggest ways I will be living my faith is by serving as a missionary for this Church In Louisiana for the next 2 years! Over the course of the next 2 years I will be leaving behind my life at home, my schooling my family, my friends, my closest relationships, my skateboard, and all other personal affairs to serve the Lord. There are a lot things required of me and things that I am sacrificing in order to do this. That being said, I am only choosing to serve this mission and sacrifice this much of my life because I truly believe from the bottom of my heart that the things I will teach are true, and I want to share this truth with the world. I know that this gospel and this church and the doctrines taught by it are right. They are true things. I know it. I know it so well that I am willing to stake 2 years of my life on it to follow the example of Christ and teach people about his word. Living my faith is something that I am constantly trying to be better at.
