Hi I'm Kirk

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I came to Alaska from Idaho right after our marriage in 1972. We love Alaska and enjoy having our four children and ten grandchildren living here as well. I spent many years flying as a bush pilot where I was able to enjoy the unbelievable scenery of S.E. Alaska. I published a childrens book about my flying experiences that has sold well for three years now. Our family now operates three fishing lodges and operates some tours primarily catering to the cruise ship industry. We love life and family and enjoy what we do very much.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Throughout my life, I have tried my best to live the gospel as taught by the Mormon Church and have found it to be a very strong moral compass. The church is extremely important to our entire family and we regularly occupy two full rows of pews in Sacrament meeting. We strive to live our lives in harmony with the teachings of the Prophets and find that our lives are blessed according to our faithfullness. I can't imagine living life without the church as it is very important and sacred to our whole family.

How I live my faith

I have always been willing to accept calls when they came and have had the wonderful opportunity to serve in many leadership positions including many teaching calls, Branch President, Bishop, High Councilman, Ward and Stake Mission Leader, Young Men's President, and councilor to the Mission President. I have recently been called to serve as a Mission President and will assume those responsibilities in Winnipeg, Canada on June 28, 2012. I have particularly enjoyed working with the youth of the church and look forward to my new assignment working full time with the missionaries in Canada.
