Hi I'm Andrew

I have a passion for music, learning, and teaching. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music. Since I was little I've been learning every instrument I can get my hands on. I play drums, percussion, piano, concert bass, guitar, and electric bass. Aside from that I love to read, Dean Koontz is my favorite author, and I've recently taken a liking to Rubik's Cubes. Right now I'm serving a full-time mission in Portland Oregon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in an LDS family. I grew up knowing about the restored gospel and the prophet Joseph Smith. In the last few years though I've really had my own testimony, and not a borrowed one, grow. I know that Jesus is the Christ and he atoned for our sins that we could find happiness. Families can be sealed for eternity my making and keeping sacred covenants in the temple. I know that as the scriptures teach "Inasmuch as [I] shall keep the commandments [I] Will prosper". I know this is true and I have seen it in my life. The Atonement of Christ has wrought miracles in my life just as it can and will for anybody who will turn to him. The Lord's Atonement and sacrifice for us is a very real and necessary truth. He suffered my pains, my afflictions, my sorrows and my sins so that I would not have to feel their weight. As I have humbly and reverently approached my Father in Heaven to invoke the power of the Atonement, as I've asked for help, support, and comfort, he has always given it to me. I know that he always will. In this same manner, through heartfelt honest prayer, I asked if the Book of Mormon was true, and if the Bible was even true. I have felt the Holy Spirit's comfort and confirmation regarding any doubt I've ever brought to the Father. Christ spoke plainly when he said "Ask and ye shall receive; knock and it shall be opened up to you." I believe what I believe because I've asked, sought and knocked.

How I live my faith

I am living my faith by serving a full time mission or the Church! I am serving in the Oregon Portland mission, speaking the Spanish language. My purpose as a "mormon missionary" is to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them recieve the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and his atonement, repentance, baptism, recieving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.
