Hi I'm Victoria

I'm a graduate student. I'm a teacher. I'm a wife and parent. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to a wonderful man and am a step-mother to a sweet little girl. I'm studying for my Master's in Political Science. I teach Norwegian classes. I hand-make birthday and other cards. I love walking, literature, being in nature, and my family.

Why I am a Mormon

A few years ago I started to wonder what was out there. When I found the LDS church I loved that it all made sense, that the doctrines and principles were explained and I could understand them and their purpose. When I prayed and lived by the principles the Missionaries taught me, I received a message from the Holy Ghost that it was true. I love going to church, reading the scriptures, and going to the temple, because I can feel the peace and love of the Spirit when I do. I have found that when I live the gospel, the Lord blesses me, and my life becomes wonderful.

How I live my faith

In church I teach Sunday School to 4-year-olds, that they might learn about the Gospel at a level they understand. Even toddlers can have faith in God. I sing in the ward choir, and every few months we sing in the church. In that way I am able to participate in worshiping the Lord through music. I try to make my faith known in little ways to others, so that if they have questions they feel like they can ask me.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Victoria
I believe that there are two reasons that Mormons proselyte. First, the fulness of the gospel is a wonderful gift. Knowing who God is, how much He loves us, and what He wants from us is invaluable. It also makes us happier than anything else can. Mormons believe that we are all brothers and sisters in spirit, and that we should love each other as such. Because we love each other, we want to spread this wonderful joy which we have received through the gospel. The world is improved by every spirit which is touched with the peace and joy of the gospel. The second reason is that God commands us to proselyte. We not only want to spread the gospel, but we are commanded to. It is part of God's plan that everyone should have the opportunity to hear the Truth, and we want to and are commanded to help that plan. It is our job and our privilege to further the purposes of God. How humbling to know that what we do can help to fulfill His plan. Show more Show less
