Hi I'm Elizabeth

I'm Mormon and I love it!

About Me

Hi there! I'm Elizabeth and I'm 16 years old. I love to read and write stories and about topics that I'm passionate about. I love horses, but get to admire them from afar as our back yard isn't quite big enough to keep one. Listening to music and dancing (not very well might I add) are two of the best things ever! I am hopelessly devoted to singing. I love to sing with every fiber of my being. Some people play volleyball or run cross country...I sing my heart out. I fancy helping people with whatever they may need should it be a plate of cookies, an open ear or a shoulder to shed some tears on. I have a big family and while chaos reigns supreme I wouldn't trade any of it for the world. I am the oldest of 6; our ages ranging from 16 (me) to my 8 month-old brother. I love kids and am excited to start my own family sometime in the future. I work as a lifeguard at the local family pool and think that it's the greatest job known to man. I am a firm believer in waiting to date until you are 16 and then not steady dating until you're at least 18. Life now is meant to be fun and exciting, not stressful and confusing by the drama that going steady brings. I love beautiful things and thank my Heavenly Father as often as possible for the sunshine and the grass and the birds and my fantastic friends and a spirit-filled house with a family that loves me. I am so lucky to be alive at such a time as this.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church and so I don't know anything different, but I know from living in a place for 9 years where the church held little to no prominance that it makes or breaks a person's outlook on life. All my friends weren't members and I remember going to their houses and feeling like something was missing. I have friends come to my house that aren't members and they tell me that something about my house is different from their own. I'm a Mormon because I've been taught that we are here on this Earth for a purpose and that we have a loving Heavenly Father and Savior in Heaven who just want whats best for us. I know that my Savior made the ultimate sacrifice, suffering in Gethsemane and dying on the cross for everyone that has lived, is living and will live, but I know that if it had just been for me, he would have done the exact same thing. He knows who I am and what I am in need of. The power of prayer is great and The Book of Mormon provides a huge comfort to those that stand in need of comfort. Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder Day Saints is one of the biggest blessings in my life.

How I live my faith

I have had the distinct opportunity to be placed in the position of a counselor to our Seminary class presidency. I enjoy leading devotionals and bringing fellow students closer to Christ. I love singing the hymns in sacrament meeting and truly believe that good music helps my testimony grow. Service is one of the key parts of my religion and I really like going the local animal shelter or visiting the elderly in the many assissted living facilities in my community. Reading my scriptures and saying my personal prayers provides a recharge for my spirit and helps me understand and live gospel standards better. I believe that everyone on this earth has a divine purpose and is a son or daughter of our Heavenly Father. This being said, they need to be treated that way. Gossip and passing judgement on anyone isn't OK and I have seen blessings come from treating those around us like Christ would.
