Hi I'm Cindy

I am a fair weather/indoor walker. I love spending time with my family. I'm a wife, mother of five, and grandmother of one!

About Me

I was raised in the church and actively involved as I was growing up. Later in life I found myself divorced with a young son to raise. I struggled at times to faithfully attend church. I finally reached the pivoting point when I recognized that my life was empty when I was not fully engaged in the gospel of Jesus Christ and returned to full activity. I married again and together we were blessed with another four children. Sadly we lost one of our sons mid way through the pregnancy. My faith was shaken as I wondered why this could happen to us but of course I was grateful for our three sons and one daughter who were with us. Life was good for our family. Then tragedy struck again in 2008 when we lost our daughter in a car accident. Again my faith was shaken! It has taken me awhile to again stand firmly on both feet and now express my humble gratitude for my Father in Heaven who in fact helped me through this most difficult time in my life. I didn’t always recognize it at the time but He strengthened me and lifted me. I am grateful for my Heavenly Fathers patience ~ always loving me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I appreciate the standards the church teaches us. It is a way of life. I am not a Mormon only on Sundays but every moment of every day. I believe that through prayer our Heavenly Father gives us direction and answers to questions, concerns or challenges we may have. We also receive instruction from a living prophet. I am grateful for all of this guidance as I try to become a better person each day. I am grateful for the Plan of Salvation as it gives me hope and an understanding that through our faithfulness, we will be reunited with our families forever!

How I live my faith

Currently I have been called to lead the women in the Relief Society program. The Relief Society is an organization in the church where women come together to strengthen, serve and teach each other. Women in the church come from different backgrounds however we are united in one purpose ~ to serve our Heavenly Father as we serve each other. We learn how to serve from the teachings and example of our Savior Jesus Christ. I am grateful for my opportunity to serve in this wonderful organization and have a deep love and appreciation for the women in our congregation.
