Hi I'm Jared

I'm a Mormon. I live in Gilbert, Arizona, but I am native to New Brunswick, New Jersey. I am an aspiring author and musician.

About Me

I am 16 years old, and have a love of classical music, singing, and writing literature, and am aspiring in both. I live with my parents, two brothers, and two dogs; my eldest brother is currently on a mission for the Church. I am also a member of the East Valley Mormon Choral Organization, and an Eagle Scout along with my three brothers. I am also a pledged member of the anti-bullying It Gets Better Project.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I know it is the true church. Not only that, it has the true gospel, and thus the true path to happiness and eternal life. I can never find happiness in anything else. I know I'm not perfect, and even I make mistakes sometimes; but through the gospel and the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I can repent of my sins and be made clean again. Everyday, I am giving my best to become like Jesus Christ. It may not be a lot, but as it's my all, it's enough. I have a testimony that God and Jesus Christ live, and love and care about me. They made me unique in my own way, and I know that uniqueness helps me keep with the Church with people who understand and love me just as much as They do. I have a testimony of the truth of the holy scriptures, that by reading them, we can learn how to be righteous, happy, and as clean as God and Christ, so that we may return to live with them someday.

How I live my faith

I make it a habit to read my scriptures every day. I do not have any callings of any sort, but I participate in fast offerings and sacrament blessing/administration whenever I can, so I guess that's good enough. I also increase my faith and testimony by watching videos based on the scriptures, mainly the New Testament. I set good examples for those around me and represent the Lord in everything I do. There is nothing better I could do, because I know that the Lord would never make me nor give me anything beyond my capabilities.

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

The tithing that is paid by members of the Church are used for several things, including the construction of temples, chapels, and other Church buildings around the world, funding missionary programs before and during their respective mission, temple work (ordinances, baptisms, ceremonies, etc.), family history, education, and many other functions that are very important for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Every time I earn money myself, I calculate 10% of that money and pay that respective amount. I pay tithing every chance I get. Show more Show less
