Hi I'm Todd Glover

I'm a Mountain Man and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a small farm in rural Utah. I have always had a love for the history of the American West, particularly the native Americans and the fur trappers/explorers. For the past 35 years I have spent time researching and participating in historical interpretation of the "Mountain Men" of the 1820-1840 time period. I served in the US Army for 24 years as a Korean Linguist and Intelligence NCO.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church, but I had to gain my own testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. When I was young I admired adults who would spend so much of their time and means devoted to the church and would wonder why they did it. Logic told me there had to something more to it than I knew. I would often hear others say that "you have to gain your own testimony." Eventually I decided that I had to try, and I began reading the scriptures, paying more attention at church and in seminary classes and most importantly, praying for an answer. It was then, when I was twelve years old, that I began to feel the Spirit speak to my soul on occasion about some aspect of the gospel that I was studying. Perhaps about the Book of Mormon, or the eternal nature of the family, or the prophet Joseph Smith. But it was when I read a book called "Jesus the Christ" that I was really hit with the spirit. I gained a testimony of the love our Savior has for us, of the depth of his Atonement and how our Heavenly Father loves us so much that he allowed his Son to pay the price for our sins. Some of the anguish and suffereing that our Savior went through in Gethsemane was caused by me and it broke me heart to think of that. I begged for forgiveness and felt such sorrow and humility that I wept long and deeply. As I prayed I felt the incredible warmth of the Holy Ghost acknowledging my prayers and pleadings and knew the Savior loved me and forgave me and wanted me to live a good life. I knew what a blessing it was to have a great family and friends to help me and guide me. I have felt that spirit many times since then helping me along the path of life here on earth and hopefully toward a wonderful eternal life.

How I live my faith

By being mindful of and thankful for the countless blessings I have been given by a loving Heavenly Father which includes my dear parents, my wife and children, my many friends, my health, my knowledge and testimony of the true Gospel of Jesus Christ, my membership in his church to name a few. I try to remember and act upon the teachings of our Savior with respect to all his children.
