Hi I'm Hunter

I'm a Full-Time Missionary, I'm a Convert, I'm a Musical Theatre Junky, I Love Chocolate, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm serving as a full-time missionary in the Colorado Denver North Mission. I spent a lot of my time working to save money and providing/going on team-ups with missionaries. I enjoy singing and sharing the joy of performing with others. Before my mission I was a Pre-Professional Musical Theater Major. I am currently taking a leave of absence, obviously. I love spending time with friends and making people happy.

Why I am a Mormon

The simple answer to this question would be a quote from a talk by President Hinckley, "Well it's true, isn't it?." I was raised in several protestant religions. Mainly the Methodist faith. My family was divided among the different sects. They lived in harmony with each other, they just went to several different churches. I grew up thinking that as long as the church was Christian, It didn't matter which one you went to. But, because I now have a testimony of the Restoration of the Gospel, I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Jesus Christ's true church and the Kingdom of God on the earth today in preparation for the second coming of Christ. I know that if you read the Book of Mormon and ask our Father in Heaven with a sincere desire to know if the church is true, that he will answer you through the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost testifies of the truth and cannot lie. I find joy & lasting happiness in living the principles of the Gospel. I am also a Mormon because this faith brings a peace, light and joy that cannot be found anywhere else. I love the words of Moroni, "Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness;... that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God." In summary, I'm a Mormon because I came unto Christ. I did the things the missionaries asked and I received a witness from the spirit that this Church is true.

How I live my faith

Well, I'm a Full-Time Missionary. I teach people about my faith everyday! I basically try to live out my faith by trying to obtain the attributes of Christ. I live my faith by trusting in God. I access the atonement through repentance and keeping the commandments. I live my faith by immersing myself into the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I live my faith through serving others and sharing the joy that I find in the Gospel with them.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

We need a Savoir because none of us are perfect. God has set up expectations for us and things that we must do to enter into his presence. In Romans 3:23 the Apostle Paul states, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." With out Jesus Christ, we would have no hope of being able to return to live with God. How do I know this? the scriptures tell us that no unclean thing can dwell in the presence of God. That sounds pretty dull right? We're all unclean and nothing unclean can enter into his presence. Without a Savoir we'd be cast off forever. However, because of Jesus Christ's sacrifice, we are able to enter into his presence. He paid the price. "For there is none other way, nor name given under heaven whereby man can be saved." As we trust in the Savoir and Follow the repentance process, we can become clean from our sins and guilt that we have. In Alma 39, we read, " For it is expedient that an atonement should be made; for according to the great plan of the Eternal God there must be an atonement made, or else all mankind must unavoidably perish; yea, all are hardened; yea, all are fallen and are lost, and must perish except it be through the atonement which it is expedient should be made." The Savoir provided that atonement. Without Him we would be lost. WE NEED HIM TO GAIN ETERNAL LIFE! Show more Show less

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

As a current full-time missionary, I can attest that I am funded by my own means. I volunteered my time and my talents to building the kingdom of God upon the earth. I payed money out of my own pocket to go on my mission. Also, there are several families in my congregation who helped me pay the cost of my mission, because I am the only member in my family. I receive no money for my service, except the money that I already payed to serve. Show more Show less
