Hi I'm Callie

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a creative mama to 3 wonderful children, and a wife to one amazing husband. I love art in all it's various forms. Creating makes me happy. I love to paint, sketch, write, read, sing, dance, design, bake and cook. I thoroughly enjoy a good book. I owned a speciality cake business, but recently sold it to spend more time with my rapidly growing children! I have learned that my greatest joys come from living the gospel of Jesus Christ, and spending quality time with my family and friends. I am a firm believer that life should be enjoyed, and I try to find humor and goodness in every situation. I love meeting new people, learning their stories and building meaningful friendships. I grew up in the suburbs outside of Toronto, Ontario, Canada and consider myself a "city" girl. I love fashion, shopping and the cultural activities associated with big cities. I enjoy traveling, and thrive on change. I am a deep thinker on the inside, and a smiler on the outside.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 17, I began to seriously ponder my relationship with God. Having grown up in a household that believed in God but didn't attend a church, I was searching for answers. I didn't have a father figure growing up, and the idea that God was my Heavenly Father spoke truth to my heart, but I yearned for more knowledge, and to understand the purpose of life! I began reading the Bible, and prayed fervently for wisdom and truth. It wasn't 2 weeks later that while waiting at a bus stop I met a missionary from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They began teaching my family the discussions, and everything they taught rang true to my soul. I knew the church was true, and I was baptized a short time later. I learned all I desired to know, and so much more. In hindsight, it was the single most important decision I have made. I have now been an active member of the church for almost 20 years. I chose to actively share my testimony by serving a full time mission for the church in Arizona, and through that experience and countless others my faith in a loving Father in Heaven, and my Savior Jesus Christ has grown in to a firm knowledge that they live and love us. I am so grateful for the knowledge that I can live with my family forever. That death only seperates us for but a moment. That we are literal sons and daughters of a loving Father in Heaven, that sin can be overcome and forgiven through the atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ, and that there is purpose to every life. I have read the Book of Mormon many, many times. I know it is inspired, and that it is a true record and testament of Christ. I invite everyone to read from it's pages and to find out for themselves.

How I live my faith

Nothing fills my heart with more gratitude than the act of serving others. It is through service that we gain perspective of our own blessings and trials, and how we truly come to love others with a Christ-like love. I have been blessed not only to serve as a full time missionary, but I have had many callings or positions in the church that have given me the opportunity to teach and share my testimony with others. I have learned so much in the process. I have been blessed to teach children and adults, I have organized faith building activities for the women and children in the church, and have been able to share my talents in the process. I have been blessed with wonderful and lasting friendships through the Visiting Teaching program of the church. We look out for one another, and give service where and when it is needed. Everyone has something to give, and one of the things I love about being a member of the church is that we don't have paid clergy - that everyone has responsibility in building the church, and in strengthening one another. Living my faith is a daily goal, and not just something that happens on Sundays. My family prays together daily, we teach our children by example and by striving to live the commandments ourselves. We are far from perfect, and the road is not always easy, but we do our best to live a life that is aligned with the will of God. I know that by striving to live the commandments, and by teaching our children to do the same, we can gain wisdom, insight, and a relationship with God that is far more precious than any earthly treasure.
