Hi I'm Alex

I was born in Provo. I love the beach. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from Utah and I love it. It has everything: Red rock, snow, mountains, lakes, forests, caves.. everything. Water activities are a passion of mine, from scuba diving to cliff jumping, or just being towed on a tube behind a boat. I can't get enough of it. I was studying at Utah State and majoring in Computer Science, but currently I am a missionary for the Church serving in the Lubbock, TX area. If you don't find me swimming or tinkering with gadgets, odds are I'm on a date having the time of my life or on adventures with the gang. I think life is about finding the balance between having fun, work, and spiritual development. So far so good. :)

Why I am a Mormon

I have always believed in God and have been curious (like millions of others) about what the purpose of life is and what it is that I am specifically supposed to do. Thats where the church steps in, because being a member is more than just being apart of a religion, it's the perfecting ground to become more like the Savior Jesus Christ. God wants us to learn to become like Him so that one day we can go back to live with Him and with all of our loved ones. The Restored Gospel is like a guide through earth life and what awaits us in the next, helping us understand why our decisions are important and what kind of impact they truly make. It answers that childhood question I had. Through the Gospel I know what God expects from me and what I am to do. Through my own study of both the Bible and the Book of Mormon combined with prayer I have come to know that Jesus Christ truly lives and that he is guiding this church. I have gained the sweet knowledge that God speaks to men today through his holy prophets, just as he did before. This knowledge has eternally blessed my life. I know that I am not just here passing through, hoping to have some good times and then become "one" with the earth. God has a plan, a great one, that leads to everlasting happiness. I don't know about you, but thats something I would like to be apart of.

How I live my faith

To live my faith I just live what I've been taught since I was young, the great golden rule: "Do unto others as you would have do unto you." My dad must have said that 1000 x growing up. I'm grateful he did, it's changed my life. We each receive assignments in the church, whether its just visiting fellow members or teaching children and youth. Or it could something big like teaching a gospel doctrine class or serving a two year mission abroad helping others know about Jesus Christ and what He has instore for them if they will act and follow him. What I really love about being a Mormon is that I have to act. I am needed and must stay involved, not only for my own personal growth and well being but that of others. We each have a big part to play and God asks for our help to do his purpose. Neat right?
