Hi I'm Kathy

I love being a mother to six children. I love horses. I love photography. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play games with my children. I like taking trips with my family and learning new things. I enjoy taking pictures of people, especially portraits. I love to watch horses in the field as they run and graze.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, there came a time in my life when I searched my soul to know if all that I had been taught was true. I read the Book of Mormon, I prayed, and as I traveled through different trials, I prayed for help. When my family was going through a financial challenge, I prayed and told Heavenly Father that I would read the scriptures, both Book of Mormon and the Bible, every night for a year if he would bless us with the money we needed. A year went by, some unexpected circumstances arose, and we had the money we needed. I knew, without doubt, my Heavenly Father had heard my prayers and blessed me. I was not only blessed financially, but blessed with further knowledge of the life, ministry and mission of my Savior, Jesus Christ by the reading I had done. With this experience and many others, and a great deal of pondering, I just knew this church was right. My testimony didn't just happen overnight, but the puzzle pieces came together for me to produce a beautiful picture of the Plan of Happiness that our Heavenly Father has for us that just makes sense.

How I live my faith

I am the president of the women's organization and organize weekly Sunday meetings for the women in our ward to learn about the Savior and I also organize monthly activities for the women to participate in. Sometimes we have service-oriented projects and sometimes we get together and learn different skills. I also organize service to the women in our church. If one of the women has a baby or someone was in the hospital, I arrange for meals to be taken in to them to help relieve their burden. I have 3 ladies specifically that I visit with monthly to see how they are doing and if they need my help with anything. Sometimes I will go on a walk with one of these ladies and just enjoy nature while we talk. I enjoy sharing ideas and talking about the gospel with each of them. I pray morning and evening daily, and have a goal to read from the scriptures or study gospel principles daily for an hour. With the example of Jesus Christ in my mind daily, I try to follow Him in what I do and say. I'm not perfect, but I'm trying. I reserve Monday nights to spend time with my family. My husband and I either teach our children gospel principles or engage them in a fun game or some kind of recreation. This is precious time I spend with my husband and children having fun and learning in wholesome surroundings.
