Hi I'm Sarahy

I grew up in Venezuela. I want to be a family therapist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Sarahy. I was raised in Caracas, Venezuela. I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 2010. I am currently attending Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I love my family; I am the oldest child of four. I love the Gospel and how it has allowed me to meet amazing people that have influenced me. I love to cook, it is a passion of mine that I would love to further develop. I love painting and writing. I also love learning to play instruments; music is a therapeutic tool. I would love to become a family therapist; I am currently pursuing a degree in psychology in hopes to work with people directly.

Why I am a Mormon

There are many reasons why the Church felt right to me. There were so many wonderful examples of strong, encouraging members of the Church around while I was investigating that lived the Gospel. Their strong families inspired me to strengthen my own and motivate me to prepare to have those blessings for my future family. I know that this Church isn't unnecessarily restrictive of activities; moral cleanliness and other commandments are given to us for our benefit. Ever since I have committed myself to the Gospel fully, I have felt a tremendous peace and happiness through my most difficult times. I testify that the Lord will give us comfort through our trials as we choose to have the perspective we need; trials are for our experience and for our good. The Lord's will is to give us eternal life and happiness; I encourage you to seek Him and receive the kind of happiness that I have experienced in this Church.

How I live my faith

The Gospel is a way of life; this Church requires my full commitment. I choose to be committed because I want to do the Lord's will. I want to do the Lord's will because I know that He will place me on the path that I need to be in to achieve perfection in Him. I try my best to live in gratitude; I try to listen to the Holy Spirit in telling me who needs my help. I know that by trying to be active in the Gospel, I feel happier because I know that the Lord is smiling upon me. Church activity provides many ways in which we can serve others, not only in our church congregation but those around us. Church members are the ones in charge of teaching and directing the congregation. I have had the opportunity to teach and I have felt blessed as I have approached these assignments with the Lord's help. I live the commandments of God to the best of my ability, knowing that after I do my best the Lord will do the rest for me. The knowledge that the Christ has died for us is also comforting in the way that we can receive pardons for our sins. God has given me an opportunity to prove myself faithful in His Gospel, and I am grateful for the opportunity.
