Hi I'm Melanie Ramsey

I love life. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student studying Communications. I love to sing and play different musical instruments. I love adventures anywhere from my backyard to my college campus to the Teton Mountains. I have one sister, three stepsisters, and four younger brothers - all of which are taller than me. I play volleyball. I overcame depression. I volunteer for everything that needs volunteers. And I love my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to two parents who already knew and loved the gospel with all of their hearts. I grew up with their word as my only witness to its truth other than the fact that I knew I was happier when I was being good and I wasn't happy when I wasn't. However, when I entered high school, I wanted to absolutely know without any kind of doubt if this was to be my future or not. So I started to read the Book of Mormon on my own for the very first time. I hadn't even finished the first half when I realized that I had felt so much light that I couldn't possibly deny this fact: I had a Father in Heaven who knew and loved me and was completely aware of everything I did and needed. I had never felt so much love in my life. My parents went through a divorce during my senior year of high school. That was the hardest thing I have had to go through so far, but the love of my Heavenly Father helped me to stand when my whole world was falling. I am so glad I have held onto the light that comes through living in line with the teachings of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, found in the Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon. Without that light, I would truly be in darkness.

How I live my faith

It is my responsibility and privilege to regularly visit a woman and make sure her needs - physical, emotional, and spiritual - are met. Since I am in college and everyone around me moves apartments regularly, we get to switch people every three months or so. I absolutely adore getting to know and serve the women around me. They are such good examples in the way they live their lives, and I am blessed by fulfilling my responsibility to learn and grow with them. I have also had the opportunity to teach women during the third and final hour of church gatherings once a month. I am younger than a lot of the women I have taught, but that is okay because we are all continually learning. I love going to church and learning with others who want to be better people as much as I do.
