Hi I'm Chris

I'm a IT Professional that enjoys spending time with my wife and daughter. I love golf, the outdoors, and tech toys. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As someone that recently became a father, there is nothing more important to me then my wife and my baby girl. Having a child has been a life changing experience. The love you can have for a child is nothing that can be described or shared, but simply it is experienced. And what an experience it has been so far. Outside of my family I enjoy solving problems with technology and being outdoors. I have a closet full of geeky tech toys, and you'll constantly find me surfing the internet for new ways to use them. One of my favorite activities outside of the home is golf. The golf course can be a very peaceful and relaxing place where you can still enjoy hanging out with friends. Family has always been very important to me. As a child we spent many weekends and every holiday with extended family. A meal was as good of reason as any to get together with all the family and enjoy time together. My wife and I have lived thousands of miles away from any family for years now. I really do miss spending time with parents and grand parents. My life is pretty routine, but someday I hope to retire and travel the world with my wife. I'd love to visit each continent and immerse myself in new cultures - hopefully through serving others.

Why I am a Mormon

I was incredibly luckily to be born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The faith and testimony of my parents became the building blocks for my own understanding of my relationship with Heavenly Father. As a new parent there is nothing more that I want then for my children to be happy and healthy. I know that so much of my happiness has come from my membership in the Church. The doctrine, gospel, and culture found within the church promotes happiness. Therefore I want nothing less for my children. I also find myself sometimes wondering how I possibly lived without my daughter. She has quickly become my reason for living and I am slowly starting to understand what it is like to truly love someone more then yourself. Through this love I feel as though I have been given a glimpse of how much Heavenly Father must love us. My testimony in eternal families bring so much happiness to my life, knowing that if we keep the commandments, I will never have to be without my family. Our physical life here on earth is nothing more then a small portion of our eternal lives which can be shared in its entirety with our loved ones.

How I live my faith

One thing that has brought so much joy to my life in the last few years is the opportunity I had to teach an early morning Bible class to high school students. We started class at 6am sharp every morning and I was always amazed at how alert and ready many students were to learn about Jesus Christ at that time of the morning. The youth of today are unique, not only in their struggles but also in their abilities, and most mornings I was given insight by students that I would have never thought of on my own. While I was officially the "teacher", most mornings I was the one being taught. As an Eagle Scout I also love every opportunity I get to participate in scouting activities. So many men and women gave countless hours for me as a youth and it is only now that I can truly recognize the importance and value of the time they did give. I hope that in some way I am making similar differences in another young man's life.
