Hi I'm Chelsea

I have lived in a number of places. I love traveling, meeting new people, and learning new languages. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been happily married to my husband for over a year now and we are excited to add to our little family. We met in college and discovered that despite our initial skepticism, we had a lot in common and we actually really liked each other. We both love to play the piano and sing. We like to take care of ourselves by eating healthy and exercising. We also love to learn new languages and to travel. I speak Spanish fluently and am working on Portuguese. I hope to add some more languages to the mix in the future. On my own, I love to sew, cook, and clean the house. I am also a big fan of winter sports such as snowboarding, skiing, sledding, and figure skating. As I get older though, I find that I tend to enjoy the warmth of the summer more, though! It is much easier to step outside without the extra layers and go for a hike or take a walk around the block.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am grateful for all they taught me when I was little, especially to pray. As I got older, I realized that I needed to know whether or not this was indeed the true Church of Jesus Christ in these days, whether Joseph Smith was a prophet, and whether the Book of Mormon was true. Because of my parents' teachings and what I had read in the Bible and Book of Mormon, I knew that I could receive an answer to prayer. Sometimes my answers did not come right away. Most often, I found that God answered my prayers as I was studying or attending Church meetings. There was a sweet peace and assurance that these things were true that I did not get in any other place or doing any other thing. Bit by bit, I have come to know that Jesus Christ lives, that this is His Church on the earth today, that we have prophets today that lead and guide His work, that Joseph Smith was the first prophet in this dispensation, and that the Book of Mormon is true.

How I live my faith

I wake up in the mornings with prayer and try to go about each day acting as I think Jesus would. I am not always the best at it, but I try each day to do a little better than the last. I strive to be kind when I speak with others, to be a good friend, to help out whenever I see a need, etc. I also make sure to put family first. I figure the most important person for me to serve and love is my husband (and my future children when they come). I try to do my part to create a loving, happy environment in our home, so that it will be a place we and others want to be, and a place where the Savior is always welcome.
