Hi I'm Thomas Richards

I grew up in Utah and have lived in France, Maryland, and Georgia. I am married with 4 daughters. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to my best friend for 19 years and have four beautiful daughters. I have a Masters Degree in Military History and would love to teach history in college. I love to spend time with my family and we love to vacation. When I am not with my family, I love to do woodworking and play the guitar. I have an identical twin brother and we love to get together as an extended family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in this church. From a very young age, I was taught the gospel of Jesus Christ and was baptized at age 8. I gained my own testimony of the truth of this gospel through personal study and prayer. As I studied and prayed for a witness, I learned for myself through the power of the Holy Spirit that the church was true and that following Christ would lead me back into His and our Father's presence. I also know that I can live with my wonderful family throughout eternity if I follow the principles of the gospel. I am happy when I keep God's commandments and I am worthy to have the Spirit to guide and comfort me.

How I live my faith

I try to do whatever I can to live as Jesus did. I serve in this church and help teach others to live the gospel. I also learn from other members' example and teachings. I addition to attending church each week, I also visit members in their homes and help and serve them as much as possible. I try to be aware of their needs and find opportunities and to strengthen them. Other members also do this for me. This is called Home Teaching and is a way for all members to be strengthened and taken care of. I try to be a good example by being honest in all my dealings, being a good neighbor and citizen, and keeping the commandments. I'm not perfect, but through the Atonement of Christ and always trying to do my best, I move forward toward Christ and the influence of the Spirit. I hope that others can see this by the way that I try to live.
