Hi I'm John

I was raised in Salt Lake City. I was born with a congenital heart defect. I own my own animation company. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an animator who loves Halloween and Christmas, and have my own digital entertainment company. Before that, I got a Bachelor's Degree in Horticulture while running a plant maintenance company which I owned for 15 years. And before that, I was a pastry chef for a few years. So, as you can see, I've worn many professional "hats". I'm married and have 3 kids who love Disneyland as much as I do. Though I'm no longer a chef, I still make fun, personalized cakes for my family. When I was 20, I taught myself to play the guitar, although I'm not that good. I was born with a congenital heart defect that I've dealt with all my life. Because of my heart problem, I have witnessed first hand God's healing miracles.

Why I am a Mormon

I have had heart problems since the day I was born. Because of my health issues, I have received numerous Priesthood blessings of healing. I know that because of these blessings, and the prayers of countless people around the world in my behalf, that my life has been sustained on this earth. There have been times I should have died. In early 2017, I was admitted to the cardiac ICU with a staph infection I had acquired from a procedure I had on my heart just 6 days earlier. The infection was in my blood and I was in septic shock. Before I left for the hospital, I asked my father and a neighbor to give me a Priesthood blessing of healing. I got to the hospital and was immediately rushed to he ICU and given lots of fluids and antibiotics. That night, the critical care doctor told me that I would get worse before I got better. I didn't! The next day, I felt 100X better than I did just 12 hours earlier, and I recovered at a "remarkable" pace. The doctors were "pleased" and "surprised" at my quick recovery, given the congenital heart defect I have which compounded the seriousness of the situation. I know my quick recovery was due to a merciful God who heard the countless prayers of people around the world and recognized the Priesthood blessings I received. I've been a Mormon all my life, and I know it is the right place to be. I know the Book of Mormon is real, and I know God and His Son, Jesus Christ, are real and love us. And that is something I cannot deny.

How I live my faith

As a member missionary, I have the opportunity to help others find ways to share the Gospel with those around them whom they feel need the Light it provides.
