Hi I'm Matt

I grew up in California. I want to be a firefighter. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently in my second year of college, studying to be a firefighter. I LOVE surfing and photography. I work 72 hours a week as an EMT driving an ambulance, and I love it. I'm leaving for my mission in Lyon, France in July...I can't wait!!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a Mormon, so I unfortunately can't share any awesome conversion story. However, there is a reason I've stayed with this church. It's true. I know it in the depths of my soul. Though I'm not perfect and I don't always live what I know to be true, I DO know that it IS true. How can it not be? EVERYTHING about this gospel makes logical sense. All of the things I've learned point me towards being like Christ and returning to our Father in Heaven. If nothing else, this gospel transforms its believers into truly incredible people--people that can endure all of life's trials and give so much to the world through their faith in God and Jesus Christ. It's true. Please, find out for yourself. Read the Book of Mormon, and pray, REALLY pray, to ask God if its contents are true. I promise you'll receive a witness from the Holy Ghost that it is true, and you'll begin the happiest days of your life here on Earth--and forever.

How I live my faith

In my congregation, I've been asked to teach the younger Boy Scouts one night a week, along with two other scoutmasters. It's been a huge blessing in my life, and it's taught me patience (ohhhh yeah...), how to prepare to teach, and other skills (remembering my old scout skillls, for one!). Plus, I love working with the kids, they're EXTREMELY energetic and excited for new stuff, which is refreshing!
