Hi I'm Julie

I grew up in Texas. I love people and music (In that order). I'm a Mormon and I love this church.

About Me

I am a college student, studying Industrial Organizational Psychology up in Idaho. Throughout my life I have had opportunities to explore this field. Through conflicts with friends or more specifically; their conflicts, friends have turned to me for advice and as it turned out, I am a great listener and problem solver. I love people and I love to have fun. My family has moved many times, but the majority of my life was spent in Texas, mainly San Antonio. After attending 2 years of college, I am taking a break to serve a mission for the church. Funny enough I’m going…home, to Texas. I will be serving the great people of Houston. I look forward to the opportunity to share the gospel with those who are seeking.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were converts to the church, so by the time I came around I was able to sort of grow up around it. We were active off and on until I was about 8, we have been active in the church ever since. There wasn't just one great moment when I became 100% invested in the church, it was a process with little moments and experiences that would build my testimony in different areas. However, there is one experience that was; I guess you could say, my “Defining Moment”. I was challenged to read the Book of Mormon at the age of 14 by my brother. I accepted after a bit of encouragement. That night I started reading the testimonies at the beginning of the book and I knew that this book is the word of God and is another Testament of Jesus Christ. I prayed to know if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is truly Gods church and kingdom on earth, and I received an answer for myself. It is something that you have to ask God, with a sincere heart, yourself.

How I live my faith

I strive to reach out and help others who need it. Whether it is physical acts of service like helping someone carry their groceries or just positive encouragement to help them through a hard time. I try to be the best person I can by being charitable and loving all of Gods children. However, I am not perfect, I make mistakes, but when I do I try to right the wrong and do better next time. The best way for me to live my faith is to continually grow and improve all that I do. I strive daily to follow my Savior, Jesus Christ.
